You know sometimes
it is so hard to come up with stuff to write about, like today.
Basically I'm just shooting this one from the hip, so I hope it
doesn't suck.
There are a lot of
things that really bugged me this week, one being the possible
loss of the right for women to choose abortion. You see the supreme
court has always been split, leaving it a choice, but with the
coming election also comes the appointment of 2 new judges to
that court. If you have been watching anything you already know
that Mr. Bush has pretty much bought his presidency, and with
that he will more than likely appoint 2 right wing pro lifers
to the seats, thus swinging the vote and taking yet another freedom
from us. Oh and by the way if you read the fine lines you would
have heard that the pro life sect has begun attacking birth control
(such as the pill, norplant, ect.) saying that they also boil
down to a form of abortion and should be outlawed.
You communistic assholes,
haven't you ever heard of the separation of church and state?
How about the social impact all of your "God's will"
would have on us as a country? Already our welfare system is over
loaded, how about feeding these children, or caring for them?
I am not a tyrant but you must face the fact the a womans' choice
to abortion boils down to a crude way of population control. I
was born an American and I will die an American and through out
my life I will fight for the beliefs that I am brought to hold
dear, if left to these radicals we would be brought back to a
day when we were burned at the stake for showing any skin below
the neck in public.
I must admit that first
amendment rights apply to everyone, and they have as much right
to their opinion as I do, but the spirit of the first amendment
was for free speech, not speech with the intent to harm or infringe
on anthers rights and freedom. This my friends is what we have
been brought to, or shall I say back to. I am not old enough but
I hope some of my readers are to remember the days of back room
abortions, and the children that were born to people who were
unequipt to handle the responsibility. These nuts that would have
this right taken away from the women of this country do not speak
for me, just as the "elected officials" that support
this view don't.
That's a whole different
subject, these "elected officials" that stand for one
thing, only to flop to a different view once in office to save
their skin. Long since gone are the days when people said what
they felt, and stood for what they believed in.
I spent 4 years in
the military and joined during the Saudi war. Why do I point this
out, because I believe in what our forefathers believed in, and
I was prepared to fight and die if must be to protect it. Little
did I know the the fight wasn't over there it was right here in
the hearts of an America that forgot what it is like to be without
freedom. Each American is as important as the next, each view
and idea is a working part of our great nation, but to run a nation
on one view or idea is called......well......communism.
In closing I just have
one thing to add, look deep America, when you think about your
rights and freedoms just remember that they as much yours as they
are your neighbors, and decisions that you make should consider
their freedom as much as your own. People fought and died for
a thing called freedom, would you?
