I received an E-mail
the other day from a reader that really gave me some inspiration
and got my writing juices flowing. The mail read as follows (this
is word for word now; copied strait from my mail),
Hello yotamaster,
I beleived your website is quite affending and inapropriate. I
believe
you
should have someone check your spelling. I think that what you
did to
the
youngman at McDonalds what quite rude and unnecisary. And if you
think
that
K-Mart is dirty, you should clean it yourself, or just don't go
to that
store, unless you feel like being a cheep person that buys crap.

Ok,
let me approach this one piece at a time. I know my spelling and
such is rather bad, This is something that I am always working
on. You see I am a product of a public education. Before you get
up in arms, I think public education can be a good thing it's
just that it was ok when I went through school, but since then
there has been a defecate decline in the educational standards
of our country. Hell, half the high school graduates I see can't
even fill out a whole job application, is it due to lack of job
experience? Hell no they can't read the stupid thing. One last
thing on this subject, if you are going to write me about my spelling,
please be courteous enough to check your own before you hit send
(just a suggestion).
Secondly,
about the "youngman" in McDonalds, he offended my wife.
What I did may seem over the top to some, but dam it that is the
woman I love and there isn't a thing on this earth that I would
let hurt or offend her. was it rude and unnecessary? NO!! It has
become accepted in this country that it's ok for people to talk
to each other like that. How many other people does (or can) he
offend before someone has enough, for that matter how many people
before me did he offend. Don't chastise me for being man enough
to step up and let him know that his behavior was unacceptable.
Don't forget to, that my wife was the victim of his slander before
he became the victim of my tongue lashing. To many people these
days are to soft on the perpetrator of an act, whether it be criminal
or just slanderous and offensive. It's time we stood up and said
that's enough, but that's a whole different Rambling.
Thirdly,
as far as Kmart goes, I am the customer. What do you think you
should get when you are paying a buck for a pack of gum? Mark
up is to cover this thing called overhead, part of overhead is
keeping the building clean. Once again, the longer we lay down
and take substandard service, the worse it will get.
Lastly (and this will
be long), I think this reader missed the point. Was the story
about me ripping this kids ass at McDonalds? Was it about Kmart
being dirty? Come on people read between the lines, my Ramblings
are merely engines that haul the ideas, and ideals, behind them.
These are about us, they are about being an American, living free,
using your rights; not having them abused. They can offend and
piss you off as much as you want but if you get the meaning behind
them then my job has been done, and this site was worth it.
I
really want to thank this reader for writing in, I always want
feedback, it is what helps me grow as a writer. Am I mad at this
reader? Hell NO, the same rights that let me write this web site
are the same ones that let her dislike it, and write me to tell
me that. The first Amendment people it lives in everything about
our society. Will I apologize for what I write (that it offends
some people), no sorry; I cannot apologize for the first amendment
or my views and beliefs, but I will say that offending people
wasn't on my mind in each weeks creations. Hmmm you know if my
site really irritates someone that bad, how about an anti yotamaster.com
site, that even I would love to see.
To
leave you with something, I would like to say, read what's behind
the words, read the concept of what you are looking at. Not just
on this site, try it in the world. You may find some things that
you Don't want to, but maybe that's why people take things at
face value to begin with. Which one are you? which do you want
to be?
